Designed to Enhance Explorative Learning

All of the spaces at Foundations were created with one thought in mind: life is all about experiences. Foundations is designed to allow children to learn in more than just their classroom environment. Discovery is part of the everyday experience.

Re-inventing Family-Style Care

Home is an integral part of school at Foundations. Our Homelife™ rooms encourage home-like activities during the day, and parents often stay to lounge in these areas with their children. Family photos can be found all around the center. Why? Because Foundations is a community of children, parents, and teachers.

Homelife™ Rooms & Family-style dining

The Homelife™ rooms are special kitchenette/living room areas used for small group activities, like story time, cooking, music, painting, clay, and more. The key to these rooms is their feel. They have soft lighting, wood floors, and comfy couches. Children and adults can relax in this space, and take a break from their normal daily routines. These rooms are purposely designed to help bridge that gap between home and school, to provide a place where children can feel more at home.

The school has three Homelife™ rooms which separate it into three distinct communities of classrooms. Children can build long term, comfortable relationships over a period of years. To children at this age, change can be difficult, and even our environment encourages this transition to go as smoothly as possible.

For children who have never been in care before, and even those that have and are moving to a new place, the atmosphere here at Foundations welcomes them and encourages them to naturally transition to a new environment.
