El Programa (The Program)

Children are introduced to Spanish in a fun-filled immersion setting. Through a developmentally-appropriate curriculum, children will learn Spanish the natural way, through hearing, doing, repeating and playing. The classes are organized around themes that are part of a child's daily life such as colors, numbers, animals, etc and gradually increasing in complexity and themes.

Los Beneficios (The Benefits)

Children who learn a foreign language beginning in early childhood demonstrate cognitive advantages over children who do not.  They:

  • Read sooner than monolingual children
  • Become better problem solvers
  • Tend to be more creative
  • Score higher on standardized tests
  • Experience advanced mental development
  • Develop a deeper understanding of their own and other cultures
  • Have access to a greater number of colleges and/or career opportunities
  • Most often speak the second language with native pronunciation

Small Group Private Lessons

Private tutoring sessions students will be held from 2:00-3:00pm on Fridays (check current Extra Curriculuar Activities Schedule to confirm).  Small group private classes are $50 per month.

Ms. Michelle

¡Buenos días a todos! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself! My name is Michelle Coulter and I cannot begin to explain how excited I am to have been given the opportunity to teach Spanish at Foundations.  I hold a joint Bachelors Degree in International Business and Spanish at Georgia State University, and I have been a Spanish teacher and tutor since 2004.

I have a passion for teaching Spanish to children, and I bring that enthusiasm to each of my classes. My goal is to keep the children moving and engaged so they always have fun learning Spanish.  If you see me around the school in my colorful poncho, stop by and say Buenos Días.  I love to share what we are learning with parents.

Sincerely,

Michelle Coulter
