Small Group & Private Lessons

Music Masters Early Music Education (small group lessons)

Music Masters: EME is a music program designed specifically for younger children. The ability to understand, interpret, and make music is present from birth. How much or little a child understands music is determinant upon how much or little they are exposed to music from a young age. The children are not taught based upon a traditional music curriculum where a teacher sits and sings with the students. Instead, the students are engaged in the imitation, and improvisation of tonal sounds, rhythms, and body movement. These activities will give the student the foundation needed to succeed in later music exploits.

Benefits to Music Masters EME include:

  • Development of gross motor skills
  • Development of cognitive abilities
  • Development of fine motor skills

Private lessons are taught as a mixture of basic music education coupled with instruction on the guitar. The students recognize their progress every time they pick up the instrument. Lessons do not stop when the child leaves the classroom. Students are encouraged to take what they have learned, and build upon that information at home. Instruction can be arranged for students 4 years old and up.

Jason Story, Instructor

I have been teaching music since 2006. Before coming to Foundations, I was Director of Genesis Percussion Ensemble at Mount Paran Christian School. Under my direction, Genesis consistently ranked in the top three at competitions and was named Grand Champions of Novice class at the Southern Association for Performing Arts Championships.

I started playing percussion when I was in Sixth grade. I was in my school band every year until I graduated. My senior year, my high school band was ranked seventh in the country at the Bands of America Championships Indianapolis. After High school, I participated in the Kennesaw State University Wind Ensemble under the Direction of Dr. Alexander who also is the Director of the Cobb Symphony Orchestra.
